The three Castles

Mondavio

A small center clinged to Marche Hill's, it is only 20km distant from the sea.
Mondavio is certified among the "Borghi piu' belli d'Italia" ("Italy's most beautiful boroughs") as well as being appointed an Orange Flag by The Italian Touring Club, a merit given to Italian inland towns worthy of excellence.
Not to be missed is Mondavio's Rocca Roveresca, a medieval defensive structure among the best preserved in Marche, due to the fact that it has never been attacked.
The structure hosts a museum where it's possible to admire weapons and armors, an armory of several cannon pieces, lightweight artillery and side weapons from the period.
Another museum embedded in the Rocca is Museo di Rievocazione Storica (Museum of historical reenactment) where accurate reconstructions of middle-aged chambers have been made as well as scenarios of reneissance lifestyles. Particularly interesting are the chambers of banqueting and torture.
Last but not least, down in the moat are to be found very interesting reconstructions of huge and impressive war machines.
You can reach the Rocca in Giovanni della Rovere Square.

Barchi

 In this small town in the province of Pesaro-Urbino there is still a strong tradition of craftsmanship and wine, all over the country you can find shops where you can taste local wines as Bianchello del Metauro, white wine grape, and Vin Santo dessert wine, which is perfect with cakes and desserts.
In fact, Barchi adheres to the association "Città del Vino" (City of wine).
Furthermore, in Barchi there is also the Artisanal Potters'  Association, because of its strong tradition in making unique pieces of artisanal pottery.

Orciano di Pesaro

It is a small village that houses a particularly interesting museum, the "Museum of the rope and ancient crafts " tied to the traditions and the rural world, consisting of three rooms: the first room featuring the brick and the tradition of the bricks , because of the presence in past of a furnace; the second room dedicated to manufacturers of ropes ( popular activity supplying the nearby maritime market Fano);
the ' last room is a special tribute to the famous Giò Pomodoro internationally known sculptor born in Orciano.
The museum ends in the front square, where you can admire the sculpture "Sole Deposto" by Pomodoro. The tour dedicated to Pomodoro can be completed with a visit to his birthplace in C. Berti street.

We report a curious historical commemoration which takes place on 16 and 17 August: " The Old Market of San Rocco ",evocation of a market of the ' 800, with traditional costumes, shops and inns, which involves the whole country .

The Museum of the rope and ancient crafts is located in Cosimo Betti street.
